The frame wood is around 22mm in thickness and I have pre drilled then screwd and glued the frame together. It's not as wobbly as you might think and when the mineral wool is in ther it's actually very stable as A27Hull pointed out.
And yes, the metal 90 degree angles are just there to prevent the insulation from comming out the back! | cheers
