It would just need to a conduit of information, staying in the digital realm. It does not need to have A/D or D/A conversion. The M-Audio SAM is no longer sold. I couldn't find the Alesis unit either. The RME unit is more than it needs to be. I was hoping to keep this relatively cheap.
