Good video. The interviewer was a bit clueless but I was amazed at
the 720p raycasting of Mt St Helens. I can only imagine what
improvements will be made with further process shrinks and core
changes. The very little that I do know about Cell is that the
Synergistic Processor Elements (SPE) are simplified as compared to the
modern day general microprocessor but they are total BEAST when it
comes to handling the stuff that makes modern day procs struggle.
I guess I'll need to find out how Cell could integrate with today's
general purpose CPU for a powerhouse tandem.
