Topaz sounded ok, but had really crappy pots I seem to recall..
I used to have an M3500 (M3700 is automated) and they are nice desks for not much money. Get one of them with the full meterbridge.
Checked the finished ebay items. $750 for a 24 track with full meter. BARGAIN.
