Consider replacing the Mackie

Don't take offense, but the Mackie isn't a good headphone amp. Get a good DAC like the Grace someone suggested or a Benchmark DAC1. This will benefit all your monitoring and make even your current headphones sound better.

With the Mackie and it's EQ circuits in chain you'll never be able to realize the full benefit of good speakers or headphones.
