Thanks everyone for your replies!! Was really shocked this morning when i saw the positive comments.
Especially bcgood!! Really liked what you did and it opened my ears to many new things. Having your opinions has been a really great experience and has given me a lot more confidence in trusting my ears, which i was lacking.

I'm going to take your advice and look for a good quality outboard stereo Eq. Caught my attention so far is the Neve 8803, Buzz Audio MPE 1.1, Portico 5033 x2

Any other suggestions would be much appreciated. Also can't find any info on the Neve 8803, has anyone had any experience with it?
