Hi

I never used any rhode mic. I have no idea of how they sound.
Tlm103 can sound pretty good on some distorted guitars. And it can also sound pretty good with clean jazz guitars. I use it sometimes for that...

But you`r probably looking for a ribbon mic...
Royer is allways a good choice if you go for ribbon. Just dont forget to get a preamp that can give the royer (or any ribbon) what it needs.


To me, the most Important thing is knowledge. An engineer with a 57 can do it better than an average guy with 10 u87.
