I sound like many different things.
There are Ride cymbals, hi-hats, crashes, splashes, and many other kinds of specialty cymbals. There are also sub-groups, like ping rides, dry rides, etc.
They each have their "best suited for" job, but no two cymbals sound exactly alike. Thinness and diameter have a lot to do with their sound. The hammering to make the cymbal also is major.
