| who cares if they sound like neves. I have never used one so i guess I don't know what I'm missing. The vintech sounds great for rock stuff. I have a vintech 72, chandler, and great river and they get used extensively. I haven't heard the others on your list, but i think they would probably all work well. I have been meaning to look into a good 2 channel tube pre, but I think the transformer based pres are hard to miss if you're doing rock stuff.
