Yeah 192 Digital I/O: an INexpensive (probably only in Digi terms) Protools dongle!!
Well it does more than just passing the digital signal to and from PT HD. Real time conversion (if any good?) should help a bunch when you move up to 96K and want to use those boxes like Kurzweil KSP8 via digital I/Os. Lately I've been surprised on how much you loose by sample rate conversion.. from lets say 48k down to 44.1k... amazing... do the mix and try A/B-ing original @48k and srconv.@44.1... huh...!! Anyone noticed that??? I wonder what happens when you SRC from 96k to 44.1k?... Some serious Pitagorian math calculations going on there... some say they prefere to work @88.2k rather than 96k 'cause the math algorhythm is more simple, more like halving when SRC (88.2 to 44.1) and they say it sounds much better. Anybody??
Also I'd use an external Word Clock to 192 rather than syncing it through the AES/EBU!!
The sexiest looking dongle for the money!
(I love its sound as well, much better than the standard 192 I/O IMVHO)

!!
