i've seen those cloud absorbers in some studios on the forum and i was wondering if anyone has a link to some more info on those and the different frequency regions you can use them in, am already doing some rsearch but if someone has some fast info for me or a link to look at then i would apreciate it
i have a small problem in the lets say 20hz to 70hz region, its not dramatic but i can hear its getting in the way ,,,i think its because my room is 7,90 meters long and some of that energy comes back to me to bite me in the ass!!! everything else sounds great its just that region ...to counter that problem i had already build MASSIVE panel absorbers but..
1. they are ugly
2. take up a lot of space the way they were build.
and i had FOUR of those mothers in the room before we decided to rebuild the studio
you can see how big they are comparing to the ampex on the side, pay no atention to the mess..
now the original plan was to use the big halfpipes in the next picture and make helmholz resonators of those for that particular region since most of that energy travels along the a-symetric walls in my room right into the pipes...but the thing is if you look at the totalshot ---> in front of the couch i had a bunch of loundry hanging there, towels and sheets to dry,about 6 rows thick spaced 7cm apart ... WITH the loundry it was sounding perfect or atleast very close ,, ..i decided to put some of the stuff i had into place to listen to the room since the loundry wont be there when all is finished i had to move it out of the room, and there it was..that little extra energy down below,
so reading up on acoustic treatments i was charmed by the "cloud" idea, and hanging one of those above the exact spot where the loundry was standing, BUT, i need them to absorb 20hz to 70hz, give or take, i'm about to measure more precise very soon but in the meantime searching for a solution wont hurt and saves me time,,,or dhould i stick with panel absorbers on the rear walls but then i a more practical size
what do you guys think is it possible with a "cloud" or should i skip it, any help or info is greatly apreciated...
