Ditto the PSA-1. I really dig the combo of sending drum subs into it then into a Distressor with the Dist 2 and Nuke settings on. On the pedal unit, I usually start with the 'normal' setting, but I've also been known to reamp snares through Mesa Boogie's.
The Z Vex Fuzz Factory and Machine pedals have been getting used more recently here for lo fi snare duties. When I use these I usually gate the returns (not on the pedal) to sculpt the attack and release times accordingly.
