the popular Sennheiser shotguns though are the MKH-416 short shotgun, the MKH816 Long shotgun and the newer KE series which have better noise specs- THe 416 is an awesome mic though.
Other mics of interest -
The Schoeps shotgun
The Sanken CSS3
The Neumann KMR-81
none are cheap. all are good.
