| The sE Electronics comparisons to Behringer are 100% just plain wrong. They are both made in China, but the similarity ends there.
sE is always working on new designs and running with ideas as they please, and they also build 100% of their stuff in house. No off the shelf capsules etc, they even build their own cases. Anything current from sE is 100% visualized and produced by them under one roof, and if they hadn't come out with the Reflexion filter I doubt we'd be seeing the current crop of "me too" products.
I am not saying one is better than the other as I have not used the others, but the Reflexion is a useful piece. I use it on guitar cabs with figure 8 mics more than anything in my room in my situation. In fact, I use an sE Electronics R1 ribbon 90% of the time on guitar cabs because it KICKS ASS in this application and sounds different than the more "rounded" sounding ribbons on the market (more bite). Not just a rebranded "me too" ribbon mic either. Saying their mics are cheapish, that is a matter of personal opinion but I am surrounded by mics all day by almost every manufacturer and sE's stuff hangs with the best of them!
I don't care if anybody thinks it sucks or if it's great as a product, but comparing sE to Behringer is wrong on every level.
