not sure if you meant the japanese les pauls???
But... i bought an epiphone elitist last year. i'm pretty sure those are manufactured in japan.
took it to a well known guitar tech shop in nashville to get it set up.
the dude said he had owned, worked on, and played lots of gibson LPs... even LPs more than 5 times the price. he said mine was the best les paul he had ever played.
