Thanks! that's what i was thinking too... the apple guy told me that the macbook doesn't have a lot of video memory (in fact, i think he said it has virtual video memory or something) and it eats up the RAM big time. Are you running an external monitor with you macbook? any problems? I already have a monitor and keyboard.... so it seems likely I'll go this route. i get the student rate on the computer, so adding the extra RAM to a macbook or just buying a macbook pro is almost same price (give or take a few $100). student discount is great for the PRO but almost nothing on just macbook. weird.
