I had a kid in for a session a few weeks ago that blew my mind. While he was setting up his kit, we were talking. He explained that he really wanted that "Huge, Dave Grohl sound".
His drum kit consisted of mixed CB and Walmart drums. No res. head on the kick, and Duct tape on EVERY DRUM HEAD (to kill the ring, duh).
