It really shines on drum overheads. For a seemingly utopian overhead set-up, let me offer you my 'typical' signal chain: AEA R84(figure 8)(Blumlein w/baffle)>API>Distressors (set to NUKE). Very simple but effective. The API inherently have a very smooth top end and matched with a pair of AEA R84 it is pure bliss. |
