Ruairi here in killarney, I rented the API off of you a while back. If you are working at 44.1/48kHz you could pick up a few cheap Adat Bridge 24s on Ebay. These would attach to the legacy port on each of your 192s giving you 16 extra Adat outs on each interface. You could hook these up to whatever D/A converter you like- Apogee DA16, RME, Fostex etc. This certainly would seem cheaper than more 192 i/o. No experience myself of the 888 but word generally is that they are poor.

Off course Digi have a new 96 interface too.

BTW did you ever sell your Control 24? I thought a little about getting one a while back but it just seems too much dough for 24 faders,
