If you're not doing Pro Tools, and if you can spare a bit more $ I'd look into the MOTU ultralite. I've had an 828 mk2 for 3 and half years and the drivers are great. I have had a couple hardware issues and MOTU has repaired or replaced my box outright, even after it was out of warranty. Can't beat that.

I've also heard good things about the tc electronic connekt series, I'm not sure how the inputs/outputs compare, but that's always another option.
