well there was hard competition in the band... but all 4 were complete geniuses... of course the bass player is always overlooked even with the importance the bass has in music (both rhythm and harmony)
JPJ is great... and he was a very important part of the zep sound... i get goosebumps listening to "no quarter","ramble on" or the amazing bass/keys he plays on "the song remains the same" live record...
i also really like a song "fourteen black paintings" he did with peter gabriel on the US record.. great pads and textures (i even think i hear a mandolin on it)
you know i've been listening to zep for almost 30 years of my life and i still listen to all the records and never got tired of them... truly a remarkable band. i hope they come to brazil with this tour. (they have toured here twice in the past few years, jimmy page has even founded an ngo to teach music to the poor kids in the state of bahia.. so he's always down here)
