Many headphones need a lot of 'burning' before they achieve 'their sound'. I recently bought Beyerdynamics DT880 and Sennheiser HD650, and while the 880 sounded OK out of the box, the 650 did not. Some people claim that 600/650 are the best headphones around (within that price range), and get disappointed.... I believe they need at least to be running for 24 hours before they loosen up, and some people insist that they keep improving up to 100+ hours....
