I've seen your posts about moving from Logic to DP. Right now I'm at the point of building a new DAW and am seriously thinking about a Mac Pro. I like OSX but the real reason I'm interested is for the midi power of Logic and the fact that the OS is 64 bit now and with Leopard the apps will be able support a lot of ram too. I want to be able to run large sample templates all in one box and it looks like we're about there. Windows is moving to 64 bit with x64 and Vista 64, but the driver and application support is not all there yet and I'm worried that the Vista ride could get bumpy.

The Mac Pro will cost around $1000 more for a less powerful machine then I can build in a pc (especially when it comes to the video card).. and all of the parts that I buy will have either 3 year or lifetime warranties, without having to pay extra for Apple's extended warranty.

I'm hoping that they roll Logic 8 out and it makes the decision really easy..
