I also expect Logic 8 to be a big change.
Isn't 7 pretty similar to 6 (I've never used anything earlier than 7)?
Logic 7 is so far from what a piece of Apple software usually looks like.
It's NOT simple and intuitive like almost everything else they make.
My guess is that for 7, they didn't really have the time to completely re-tool it into a truly "Apple" program. I can't imagine that they will NOT overhaul it big time for the next big release.
Also, I highly doubt it will be dumbed down power-wise in the process. Apple seems pretty serious about their Pro apps, and I'm sure they recognize that Logic actually has a rather high installed base in DAW users.
