In fairness, I think (looking at his gear list) he's talking about getting into the Writting/scoring side, for actual orchestral "film" sessions not only would he need a whole lot of microphones, but his whole equipment list would have to be of a different order.
In the uk (and we do a lot of the Hollywood film sessions here) there are only really 5 studio's/facilities that do major filmscore work on a regular basis.
