The "acoustic" caulk wont skin over and never completely dries... so later there shouldn't be any shrinkage
there are fine caulks out there that are not labeled "acoustic"
but when its buried deep in the walls you cant go back and redo it... so my thought is
do it right the first time
Also when you buy the stuff by the truckload they give you a discount
Company's like Auralex must have a 70%mark up or more
