| Hi Andrew. The first thing I would do is read over the Drumagog current manual. Its a pretty intense plugin with tons of features.
But for the most part, I would start out with the Z1 hits, and go to the SAMPLES menu. I would go to subgroup, GROUPS, and put reset, 4 groups. Then I'd delete one so you have three velocity layers for your three velocity kicks. Now click the samples tab, and import all the Z1 kicks hits in all the velocities. When you click on them, you'll be able to choose their group. All of the hard kicks should go in group 3, the medium in group 2, and the soft in group 1. Go to the main tab and put resolution to AUTO. Hit play and see what happens. If you go to the samples/group tab, you'll be able to SEE which hits are being used for your triggering. If for instance, you see a lot of the medium velocity kicks going off when there should be the hard velocity kicks, adjust the group sliders down accordingly. For kick, you'll want almost all of the hard velocity, so have that group slider at a decent point to grab most of the kicks, with the medium and soft velocities farther down to only get soft kicks that need the soft kick hit. Remember that even with all hard velocity kicks, given the fact that the kicks are multisampled AND that drumagog uses dyanmic tracking, the kick track will sound very realistic and will have dynamics as long as the source does as well. Hope this helps. Give me a shout if you need more info. |
