I have a Great River--it's nice. I'm selling it. I have a Pacifica and two channels of P1. It is THE sound I want all my tracks to have. You'll find the Pacifica to be an extremely musical sounding preamp that is flattering for all styles of music. It delivers in a big way. With the Pacifica in my rack I don't sweat choosing preamps anymore. There's no choice I need to make.
I highly doubt you will be disappointed with either preamp though.
